Action Camera Review - Drift Ghost-S VS GoPro Hero 4 VS SJ4000

There has been a revolution in action and sport cameras over the last couple years with car owners installing dash-cams as a measure of added insurance protection, and for good reason.   But for sports/action use, does it pay to pay, or is brand loyalty the discerning factor?

There’s no denying that Gopro has the market share and an almost religious following, but there’s other alternatives for filming your adventure; whether biker, surfer or climber.  We’ve got our hands on 3 popular choices:  The GoPro Hero 4 silver, Drift Ghost-S and a GoPro lookalike, the SJCAM SJ 4000.  All Wi-Fi compatible.

Heidenau K60 Scout Adventure tire test

Adventure and dual-sport motorcycles are on the increase.  And with the reintroduction of the new Africa Twin CRF1000l, things can only get better, particularly in Thailand!  That being said, for those that do actually use their bike for some off road fun, or a blast away from the road, some additional tools may be needed.

Vee Rubber VRM-163 Enduro Tire – Thailand 2 Germany 1

Tires – If I were a rich man!

Safety is paramount when pushing a bike beyond its normal use.  Clothing, suspension and setup to mention a few.  However, tires have to be at the top of the list where safety and security is concerned.

I’ve been riding bikes for a number of years from local makeshift dirt tracks in the UK, to road and adventure riding here in Thailand, but despite my personal experience on a bike, I can honestly say I’ve never been truly satisfied with the tires I have used.  While for the most part, a tire, whether Michelin or Pirelli has performed well, there’s always been one niggle that leaves you with that question “if only it did this a little better?”

2014 Honda Forza Review

Thailand over the last year has seen an expansion in motorcycles offered to consumers.  Big bikes are on the increase.  But while bigger bikes offer more in speed and sometimes rider comfort than the usual scooter, they do lack certain facilities which have become essential in Thailand.  Of course, a big bike owner can install panniers usually at the price of a scooter, but with it comes the increase in width which leads to a cumbersome machine in the mayhem of Bangkok traffic. KTM Duke 390 -  FarangMoto Test Ride

The Austrian KTM Duke is KUNKA Corp’s most popular model, generating 70% of its revenue for the year 2013.  This was also encouraged by the drop in price with a whopping 500,000 bht discount to boost sales during the Moto Expo 2013 of the Indian assembled Duke.  The KTM 390 shares the same chassis as the Duke 200 and Super Duke 1290, and is considered the fasted naked bike on the road which is a bold claim.  Our test will be with KUNKA Corp’s best-selling KTM, the Duke 390 to see if those claims stand.  KTM Duke 390 Test Ride
